Good Questions

Common questions

I’m already certified elsewhere — do I have to start over?

No — if you hold a ProBoard Firefighter I, you’re exactly who we’re looking for. Bring your certifications to your interview and we’ll map what carries over before you commit to anything.

How soon can I actually ride suppression?

Fast. With a ProBoard FFI plus ICS, bloodborne pathogens, and CPR, you can be onboarded at the next company meeting — within about a month of applying — and start clearing check-rides from there.

What’s the time commitment?

You sign up for the duty shifts that work for you — nights, weekends, or both — and scale up or down as life allows.

Do I need to live in the area?

Close enough to make the shifts you sign up for at Station 7 in Gambrills or Station 3 in Riva. We’ll talk specifics at your interview.
