1. Website Terms of Use
By accessing and using the Arundel Volunteer Fire Department ("AVFD") website at www.arundelfire.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use this website.
AVFD reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
2. Use of Content
All content on this website, including text, images, and graphics, is the property of the Arundel Volunteer Fire Department unless otherwise noted. Content is provided for informational purposes only. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content for commercial purposes without prior written consent.
3. Member Portal
Certain areas of this website are restricted to authorized AVFD members. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
4. SMS/Text Messaging Terms
The following terms apply to the AVFD Paging SMS program operated by the Arundel Volunteer Fire Department.
4.1 Program Description
AVFD Paging is an SMS-based communication service used to send operational messages to active department members. Messages include shift staffing requests, operational alerts, and department notifications. This is a two-way messaging program: you may receive messages from AVFD and reply with supported keyword commands.
4.2 Consent and Opt-In
By enabling paging through the AVFD member portal, you expressly consent to receive SMS text messages from the Arundel Volunteer Fire Department at the mobile phone number associated with your member account. Consent is not a condition of membership or any purchase. You must be an active AVFD member with a valid account to enroll.
When you opt in, a confirmation code will be sent to your mobile phone. You must reply with this code or enter it in the member portal to complete enrollment. Messages will only be sent after you have confirmed your opt-in.
4.3 Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on department operational needs. You may receive multiple messages per week, with higher frequency during periods of increased operational activity.
4.4 Opt-Out
You can opt out of SMS messages at any time by:
- Replying STOP to any message received from AVFD Paging
- Disabling paging through the AVFD member portal
After opting out, you will receive a single confirmation message. No further messages will be sent unless you re-enroll.
4.5 Help
For help with SMS messaging, reply HELP to any message received from AVFD Paging. You may also contact the department at info@arundelfire.com or call (301) 261-0060.
4.6 Supported Carriers
SMS messages are supported on all major U.S. wireless carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
4.7 Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply. Consult your wireless carrier's pricing plan for details. AVFD is not responsible for any charges incurred from your wireless carrier.
4.8 Origination Number
Messages are sent from [PHONE NUMBER]. Do not reply to this number with anything other than a supported keyword (STOP, START, HELP, or a confirmation code).
5. Disclaimer
This website and all content are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. AVFD does not guarantee that the website will be available at all times or free from errors.
6. Limitation of Liability
The Arundel Volunteer Fire Department shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use this website or its SMS messaging services, including but not limited to lost data, missed messages, or service interruptions.
