Good Questions

Common questions

I’ve never done fire or EMS — is that okay?

Absolutely. Many career-changers start with zero experience; we provide all the training free of charge.

I’m a veteran — does my experience transfer?

Your discipline, teamwork, and composure under pressure transfer directly. Bring any relevant certifications to your interview and we’ll map what carries over.

I just moved here — can I still join?

Yes — being close enough to make the shifts you sign up for at Station 7 in Gambrills or Station 3 in Riva is what matters.

What’s the time commitment?

Riding members aim for about 48 hours a quarter, on the shifts you choose.
