The AVFD has collected the best of the best recipes from all of our members to put together the "AVFD Family Cookbook". The cookbook consists of over 100 recipes and costs only $12 (including shipping). Curb Painting
Picture yourself calling 911 for a medical, fire, or police emergency and the help you need is delayed in getting to you because they can't locate the correct address. This is exactly the kind of incident that two of Crofton's volunteer service organizations are trying to avoid.
The Arundel Volunteer Fire Department and Boy Scout Troop 731 of Crofton are beginning a fundraising project to mark the curbside addresses of Crofton homes, making it easier for emergency responders to find your house.
For a $20 donation to the AVFD you will have a 12"x5" white reflective background with 3" black numbers painted on your curb in a visible location to emergency responders.
Volunteers from the Boy Scouts or the AVFD will come through your neighborhood in three stages:
1) Scrape and scrub the area to be painted
2) Paint the white reflective background with a concrete adhering paint
3) Paint your house number on the white background.
The cooperative arrangement between Troop 731 and the AVFD will benefit both organizations and the community. The funds raised will allow Troop 731 to continue providing high quality outdoor leadership adventure opportunities for our children. For the AVFD, this is one of several fund raising activities being conducted to raise money to upgrade the fire and emergency apparatus serving Crofton. Specifically, this year we are replacing Rescue Squad 7 which has provided heavy rescue and extrication services to Crofton for the last 20 years.
Residents will need to provide their Name, Address, Phone, and Payment information to the AVFD. You can do this is several ways:

Pit Beef
Calling all appetites! The first Saturday of every month, April through October, the AVFD is serving up our delectable Pit Beef, Pit Ham and Pit Turkey right at the station! We start cooking pit beef around 6:00am in the morning, and it is usually ready to eat by 10am. Pit Beef is a great way for the AVFD to interact with the community as well as raise money for some of our needed improvements to continue to serve the citizens of Crofton, Gambrills and Davidsonville.
Cropping
The Arundel Volunteer Fire Department's Ladies Auxiliary is proud to present "Croppin' for the Day" on November 3rd from 9am – 9pm. There will be a $40 fee for: 12 hours of cropping, a continental breakfast, hot lunch, dinner, free make 'n takes, layout contest, hourly drawings and a grand prize drawing.

Fund Drive
Every year the AVFD holds a fund drive to help pay for some of our most basic needs. There are many ways in which you can help us reach our goal. You can donate your time, goods and services, and/or make tax-deductible monetary contributions. All are greatly appreciated!

Christmas Trees
Ho Ho Ho! The AVFD is excited to be selling Christmas trees for the 4th year in a row. Trees are raised at Brown's Tree Farm in Pennsylvania and consist of Frasier Fir, Douglas Fir, and Canaan Fir. Sizes range from table top (about 3') to 15'. We also sell undecorated and decorated wreaths, center-pieces, pine roping, and tree stands! Christmas tree sales begin the Friday after Thanksgiving and continue until the lot is bare. Christmas tree delivery is available for a donation to houses in our first due area (Crofton, Davidsonville and Gambrills).
